CONRACK, written and produced by Granville Burgess, based on Pat Conroy’s The Water is Wide, brings to laugh-filled, musical life the story of his teaching on Daufuskie Island in 1969. Pat fights for his students’ rights against a racist school system. His idealism costs him his job, but gains him his students’ love and his own self-respect.
