The City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs and MOJA Arts invite South Carolina artists to submit original artwork for consideration as the official image of the 2026 MOJA Arts Festival.![]()

The selected artwork will be featured on festival posters, merchandise and promotional materials, and the selected artist will receive a $5,000 commission.![]()

The 2026 festival will celebrate the traditions and cultural legacies of Barbados, Gullah Geechee, Jamaica and Sierra Leone.![]()

"To me, location and place is important, and I want people to know that my work was made in and about the South, especially with my photographs in Alabama – home to generations of my family. All the sculptures are tied to Alabama as well, some much more loosely than others. I’ve never travelled much outside of the Southeast, but really, I think the images and materials speak to small towns and rural communities at large. My biggest pleasure, probably more so with the photographs, is when somebody looks at my work and makes a connection with their own past, their own memories."![]()
